Professional experience

Justin A. Brown is a Senior Consultant with The JBL Group. Justin brings proven experience in Government and Stakeholder Relations, Advocacy and Health Policy and has served in leadership roles in the public, non-for-profit and for-profit sectors. 

He has in-depth government knowledge gained as a Ministerial aide, both federally and provincially. In Ottawa, he served at Justice, Public Security, Immigration, Industry, Science & Technology and International Trade. In the Government of Ontario he was Chief of Staff to the Chair of Cabinet and Ministers of Consumer & Commercial Relations, Economic Development & Trade, as well as Public Safety & Security. Justin has expertise on international trade files, quarterbacking Bills through the Legislative process and experience in Crisis Management and Communications, advising on the Ice Storm, SARS Crisis, 9/11 and Power Blackout responses. 

Following his government experience, Justin served as Vice President – Strategic Partnerships at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and as Director – Major Alliances at the Heart and Stroke Foundation, where he helped broker major strategic funding partnerships between companies, governments and health NGOs. He promoted a spirit of goodwill and cooperation between Health Research charity and Pharmaceutical stakeholders as Co-Chair of the Rx&D Stakeholder-Industry Committee. 

Justin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Carleton University, has been a member of the Rotary Club of Toronto and has been active in the political process for many years.
