Professional experience

​Bernard Lachapelle is the President of The JBL Group. Before establishing the company in 2000, Bernard held Senior Executive positions with Hoechst Marion Roussel and Eli Lilly Canada. He has over 30 years of experience in Government Affairs, Pricing and Reimbursement, Managed Care, Health Policy Development and Corporate Communications as well as Marketing, Pricing and Tendering, and Human Resources.

While serving in key corporate roles, Bernard was also an active member of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Canada (now Innovative Medecines Canada), and served as Chair of its’ External Affairs Section and of the Quebec Committee, as well as being a member of the Patent Committee. He gained extensive international experience as a member of the HMR Global Policy Network, the International Committee for the Elimination of Pharmaceutical Tariffs, and the Board of Directors of the International Association of Health Professions. ​

A graduate of the Laval University School of Pharmacy, Bernard has been involved in the political process for many years and continues to serve the community in several capacities. A past Chairman of the Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Bernard is currently Chairman of the Board of Innovation Life Canada, the organization that oversees the prestigious Prix Galien in this country, and a member of the Pharmaceutical Executive Editorial Advisory Board.
